Hima is a small village in the Southwestern corner of Uganda bordering Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of the Congo, approximately 212 Miles from the Uganda Capital City Kampala.
With a population of around 15,000 people, Hima is an industrial town with its main employer the local Cement Manufacturing Company.

The Orphanage Staff
The team have dedicated their lives to protecting and educating the children of the LUCU orphanage.

Education Director
Amani Yambuka
Amani was hired by LUCU orphanage in August of 2023 to take care of all the education needs of the children at the orphanage. Working together in constant communications with the Directors at Aid Liberty Missions, Amani has been researching and providing educational charts/breakdowns for each child, and providing Aid Liberty Missions with all costs specifically related to Primary, Secondary and Vocational Education for the children of LUCU Orphanage, as well as the process of registering the children and many more responsibilities.

Child Caretaker
Sylvia Masika
Sylvia joined LUCU Orphanage in early 2023. She shares in the responsibilities of caring for all the children's needs at the orphanage, which include preparing meals, laundry, cleaning, etc.

Boys Patron
Isaak Masereka
Isaak is the boys Patron at LUCU Orphanage since 2023. He manages all matters concerning the boys hygiene, welfare, discipline, safety and security. He provides confidential counselling and guidance to the boys. Isaak also provides the supervision for the indoor and outdoor games.

Child caretaker
Meriveye Muhindo
Since 2023, Meriveye has been caring for the welfare of the children, and providing for their needs, whether that be food, laundry or other responsibilities.

Jennifer Musoki
Jennifer has been a part of LUCU since Jan. 2020. At an early age, she developed a passion for working with children. Jennifer is a single mother with two young boys. She takes care of children, cooking, cleaning, laundry etc...

Safety Officer
Peninah Kabugho
Peninah has served with LUCU since 2017. She oversees hygiene, sanitation and all other health-related programs at LUCU. In August 2018, Peninah is one of the LUCU staff that attended a First Aid training course of the Uganda Red Cross Society in Kampala.

Program Coordinator
Diana Nanyimba
Diana joined LUCU in 2019. She is the wife of the Director and Founder of LUCU Orphanage and her responsibilities range from arranging programs, with particular emphasis on child care and recreational activities.

Director
Bwambale Sedrack
Serves as the Founder and Director at Lift Up Children Uganda (LUCU) Orphanage. As Director, he provides overall leadership and strategic direction to LUCU. Sedrack is driven by his passion for making genuine and lasting change to the lives of orphaned children and widows living in poverty in Uganda.
